Meet Our Staff

President of Einarson Law Office, PC

Ms. Einarson graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1992 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of North Dakota.

Following graduation, Ms. Einarson was employed by Fleming, DuBois & Trenbeath in Cavalier, ND as an associate. She became a partner in that firm in 1996. In that same year she founded Einarson & Gaustad, PLLP in Grafton, ND. The firm became Einarson Law Office, PC in 2001.

For the duration of her practice Einarson has handled a variety of cases but has focused primarily on the area of divorce, custody, and paternity. She is licensed in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Arizona and is a member of each state’s Family Law Section. She has served on various committees of the State Bar Association and is a past president of the Family Law Section of the State Bar Association of North Dakota. Einarson is a frequent presenter regarding family court issues. She also serves as the municipal judge for the City of Grafton and is a certified family court mediator. Einarson has been a Certified Mediator since 1989 and is qualified to serve as a neutral in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Einarson has served on the Board of Directors for the State Bar Association of North Dakota for many years, serving as its President in 2017-2018. She is a past recipient of the “Champion of Justice” award given by Legal Assistance of North Dakota. She was also Chancellor of the Jack Rabbit Bar Association in 2018 and  is a member of the American Bar Association, the Minnesota State Bar Association and is a former member of the North Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.

Sydney 2023Sydney Einarson Bata

Attorney

Vice President/Shareholder

Sydney Einarson Bata, from Grafton, North Dakota, graduated from North Dakota State University in December of 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Science. She graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law in August 2020.

While at UND Law, Sydney was chosen to attend the Food Law Summit in Washington, D.C. There she learned about the laws that affect the production and sale of crops and food. Ms. Bata has been working as a Law Clerk and a Legal Assistant at Einarson Law Office since May of 2016. She has been a licensed attorney in North Dakota since April 2021 and a trained mediator since May 2016.

While attending NDSU, Sydney volunteered at Homeward Animal Shelter. She also organized teams and raised money for the Out of the Darkness Walk in Fargo promoting suicide awareness and prevention and the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Grand Forks. Sydney has been a part of the Adams Development Committee and assists with the annual Fire Department Fundraiser in Adams.  

Sydney now lives in Adams, North Dakota with her family. In her free time she likes to paint, travel and spend time with her family.

Associate Attorney

Samantha Onstad graduated magna cum laude from Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, NE in May of 2022. 

While in law school, Samantha was invited to join Alpha Sigma Nu, a Jesuit Honor Society where membership is prized as one of the most notable distinctions which can be worn by a student in a Jesuit Institution of higher learning. During her time at Creighton, she served as President of Creighton's Moot Court Board, a Law School Mentor to incoming law students, and a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Honor Society. Throughout her time at Creighton, Samantha was also awarded the Dean's Academic Scholarship and 10 CALI Excellence for the Future Awards, which are given to the highest scoring students in each law school class.

Samantha is currently residing in Grafton with her husband Daniel, and three fur babies. In her spare time she enjoys playing guitar and piano, watching movies, and in the summer going to the lake.

Peyton Cole

Law Clerk

Peyton Cole was raised in Park River, North Dakota. She graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in December of 2019. In May of 2023, she graduated from the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, MN.

While at the University St. Thomas, Peyton was involved in the Trademark Clinic, the Women’s Law Student Association, First-Generation Law Student Association, and the Business Law Association. Throughout her undergraduate degree and prior to attending law school, Peyton worked at the Red River Regional Council in Grafton, ND which sparked an interest in economic development and helping small business owners. She has been a Law Clerk with Einarson Law Office since May of 2022.

Peyton currently lives in Hoople with her husband Austin and dog Archie. In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, photography, and spending time with her family.

Office Manager

Denise serves as the office manager and bookkeeper of Einarson Law Office. She manages the physical space, maintains the website, and performs billing and bookkeeping functions for the firm. Denise also prepares correspondence, transcribes dictation and assists with the overall operation of the office.

Denise hails from Park River, North Dakota where she was born and raised. She is a graduate of Park River High School. Denise has a background in the financial industry where she most recently worked at U.S. Bank , for 26 years, where she began as a teller and she advanced to a Customer Relationship Consultant during her time there. At U.S. Bank Denise was awarded Top Teller/Performer and Star of Excellence, and was also recognized for Top Customer Service Scores.  She joined Einarson Law Office in March of 2022.

 In her spare time she enjoys gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Shari 2023Shari Mondry

Legal Secretary

Shari is a 1987 graduate of North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton, North Dakota, and holds a Secretarial Science Associate's Degree.  She comes to Einarson Law Office with 36 years of secretarial experience and has been employed with the office in the past.

Shari grew up with six siblings on a dairy farm in southcentral North Dakota. She graduated from Zeeland High School, Zeeland, North Dakota in 1985. Shari currently resides in Forest River, North Dakota, with her husband, Tim. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, canning, riding their Harley and spending time with family and friends.
