Preparing to Meet Your Lawyer

Thank you for considering our office to assist you with your matter.

You will have many questions. It may be helpful for you to write them down as they occur to you so you can be sure that you get your questions answered when we meet.  Regardless of which party initiates the action, this will likely be a very emotional time for you as well.  Please be sure that you utilize your support network to help you through this difficult time.  Our office can also provide you with referrals to counselors, and information regarding support groups and classes if you wish.

Preparing for Your Initial Consultation

Divorce cases as well as other family law matters, involve many aspects.  Not only does a divorce sever the marital ties but also, the Court will issue an Order that divides property and debts, determines residential responsibility, support and parenting time as well as many other items.  It is, therefore, important that we have a very thorough picture of your situation.

For that reason, I have prepared a Client Information Questionnaire.  This questionnaire, when completed, will give me all of the information needed to commence your action as well as form a good basis for further inquiry.  Please complete the questionnaire as completely as possible and bring it with you to your initial appointment.  Please also bring the information requested in the questionnaire.
